In the prehistoric Quaternary era, Rocky, a 10-year-old Cro-Magnon boy, is about to undergo the Grand Journey ritual, marking his transition to a hunter. Eager to start, Rocky takes a shortcut across a frozen lake, falls through the ice, and becomes frozen for 35,000 years.

In the 21st century, archaeologist Mary Tikka discovers Rocky in the Himalayan glaciers and adopts him, integrating him into her family with two siblings, Theo and Luna. Rocky now faces modern childhood adventures, but evil Professor Torpille wants to refreeze him to gain fame.
